Depois de Waldemar Cordeiro

Depois de Waldemar Cordeiro is a lamp inspired by a floor lamp made by a Brazilian artist in about 1955. The only surviving record of the original lamp is a small newspaper photograph. The lamp was recreated with contemporary materials and techniques. The structure is made of solid aluminum shaped by computer controlled machines and finished with electrostatic painting. A single 4W LED light source creates a range of shades, from dark gray to pure white, through internal reflections and the different distances between the source and the white rings.

Wall Washer

Wall Washer is a linear lighting fixture designed to illuminate building facades. The fixture uses a seven-in-one digital light and color technology, created through precise optical design, to reach a wide color mixing range that covers 73 percent of the CIE 1931 area. The broad color coverage and intelligent color toning help lighting designers match the style of a building. The body is made of aviation aluminum alloy and measures 100 by 6.5 by 10 centimeters. An IP67 rating and a grille that limits glare support outdoor use.

The Sixth Sence

The Sixth Sence is a floor lamp designed for simple tactile control. The base has a cross shape, so the lamp can be placed close to a desk or between pieces of furniture. The switches are set above the shades, within arm's reach of a seated person. One or both shades can be turned on without looking at the lamp. Metal, frosted glass and LED boards are used, so no light bulb needs to be replaced. The finish is matte black with a textured surface that is pleasant to touch. The lamp is collapsible to protect it in transport and reduce packaging.

Wanping

Wanping is a lighting design for an opera theater in Shanghai, covering 29,000 square meters. The building concept is derived from the folding fan used in Chinese opera. The lighting follows the same concept and expresses the shape and texture of the facade. Adjustable in-ground lights and floodlights reveal the folding form and the curtain wall texture. Inside, adjustable downlights illuminate the fan-shaped wave wall, while linear wall washers brighten vertical surfaces. High color rendering lamps show the colorful opera costumes clearly.

The Union Church

The Union is a lighting design for a church in Shanghai that was founded in 1886 and stands near the Bund. The church was unused for many years and was transformed into a music performance space in 2021. The lighting creates a small and calm spiritual space that also supports performance needs. Functional lights provide a uniform environment and serve as stage lighting. A large pendant light combines lighting and acoustic functions and holds recessed lights and candle-shaped lights. In-ground wall washers with narrow beams reveal the wall texture and the Gothic arch.

Aeronautics

Aeronautics is a family of four pendant luminaires produced with rotational molding. The family is based on two shapes, named Zeppelin and Balloon, which can be used in different applications, sizes and proportions. The design explores the advantages offered by rotational molding technology. The forms refer to inflatable aircraft, to air and to clouds, and express lightness and simplicity. Suspended from the ceiling, the luminaires appear to float inside the interior space.
