Uni
The Uni integrates inside and outside surfaces to create unconventional forms. Inspired by origami and negative space, Xubai Li designed it by forming a flat aluminum sheet into a three dimensional volume. Scaled from one sixteenth models to full size prototypes, it achieves stability through fold based geometry. Intended for urban environments, the Uni functions as both a table and a freestanding object, providing unobstructed negative space and mobility for modern studio living while maintaining an unobtrusive appearance.
Uni Side Table by Xubai Li was featured as a grand example of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Uni Side Table received the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2026. The A' Furniture Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition that rewards outstanding design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
