Fusion
Fusion is a folding chair designed for home use. The design combines the form of a traditional Chinese armchair with the compact structure of a modern folding chair. The legs are made of black walnut, while the armrest area and the seat surface are made of yellow walnut. Curved parts are steam bent and shaped in moulds, and the metal backrest supports and gears are cast, ground and machined. The chair measures 780 by 490 by 490 millimetres. The folding parts are placed on the inner legs, so the chair remains elegant when stowed.
Fusion Folding Chair by MengKe Yuan has been recognized as an exceptional illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Fusion Folding Chair earned the Iron A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2024. The A' Furniture Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program that recognizes exceptional design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
