Golf
Golf is a folding bench and chair made entirely of wood. The design combines rectangular and cylindrical section elements, and the cylindrical parts are shaped for an ergonomic relationship with the human body. All hinges and fittings are also made of wood, which gives the pieces a more artisanal character. Fixing is achieved with Sucupira wood dowels, selected for their resistance, so no metal parts are needed. Once folded, the bench and the chair form compact volumes that can be carried by hand and stored in a small space.
Golf Folding Chair by Miguel Arruda was recognized as an outstanding illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Golf Folding Chair was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2024. The A' Furniture Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design award which celebrates outstanding design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
