Arc Chair

Arc

Arc is a multipurpose chair designed for everyday seating. Curves shape every part of the chair, from the sweeping backrest to the arched armrests. The frame is made of 16 mm mild steel pipe bent into rationalised second-degree arcs. The seat, back and armrests are cut from 18 mm birch plywood on a CNC machine and finished with a dark stain. The chair is supplied as two halves that are joined with bolts, and the armrests can be attached when needed. Anthropometric data from users aged 25 to 35 guided the ergonomic proportions.

Arc Chair by Dheeraj Belgaonkar has been featured as a grand representation of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Arc Chair was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2024. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition that recognizes exceptional design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
