Pan
Pan is a coat hanger made up of three steel elements connected by a central joint. Each component is obtained by reusing the waste steel sheet coming from industrial laser cutting processes. Each component is sized with the aim of reusing as much material as possible. Pan is a multifaceted object, the two dimensional sheet takes on a new three dimensional aesthetic, a multifaceted volume with a sculptural value. Each pan is unique because its design depends on how the elements are randomly arranged on the slab during the ongoing production process.
Pan Coat Rack by Sapiens Design Studio was identified as an outstanding illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Pan Coat Rack was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2022. The A' Furniture Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program which recognizes superior design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
