Tai Chi
Tai Chi is a work desk designed for offices and studios, especially for people who draw by hand. Three edges of the desktop are raised to stop brushes and other tools from falling to the floor. The front edge is cut as a soft corner for more comfortable use. The curved form is inspired by Chinese Tai Chi and its balance of yin and yang. The metal parts are made by CNC machining, and the wood used is beech. The curved sections are shaped by machine and finished by hand. The desk measures 1600 by 800 by 710 millimeters.
Tai Chi Work Desk by Lu Yi was highlighted as an exceptional illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Tai Chi Work Desk earned the Iron A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2022. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program that honors exceptional design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
