Waves
Waves is a modular closet designed for bedroom storage. The unit is made of seven independent lacquered wood cabinets that can be arranged together. Waves measures 1800 mm in width, 750 mm in depth and 1800 mm in height. Adjustable shelves hold cosmetics and small garments, large drawers hold clothes and accessories, and a shirt hanger slides out from the side. A push to open system keeps the outer surfaces clean and free of handles. The form is inspired by a wave about to disappear on the shore. A single tone of matte blue is hand-painted inside and out.
Waves Closet by Hasan Özkul was featured as a creative illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Waves Closet was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2022. The A' Furniture Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design accolade which recognizes exceptional design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
